La Pic Barrique – Spontaneous Edition is a blended beer inspired by Belgian gueuzeries. Aged in oak barrels for 18 months, the spontaneously fermented beers in this blend are made from Témiscamingue floor-malted barley, raw wheat, and aged hops.
In the depths of Le Prospecteur’s barrel cellar, a variety of airborne microorganisms contribute to the fermentation.
Thanks to the unique environment of our oak barrel cave, this beer develops its wild ferments, giving it a fruity, mildly sour acidity, a rustic character, and aromas of earth, leather, hay, and barnyard.
In short, a wild, rustic, and funky beer that—don’t worry—is definitely not for the worms!
